Description

McWhinney is currently seeking candidates for Senior Project Manager. This role is responsible for managing design, construction, and project management activities from pre-development through transition to operations for commercial facilities primarily located in Northern Colorado but also may include projects in Denver and in the region. Performs a wide variety of tasks relating to managing commercial development projects including obtaining building permits, obtaining vertical entitlements and negotiating development agreements, overseeing construction activities through certificate of occupancy, managing design team to ensure a complete and comprehensive design that meets all project requirements, and managing the overall closeout process including punch lists, final payments, O & M manuals, final unconditional lien waivers, etc. Significant time spent in both cost management and risk management strategy execution.


This role collaborates with the Vice Presidents of Commercial Development in responding to RFPs and developing project pro formas, including providing information related to design, costs, and timing of project build. The incumbent also supports and implements processes and procedures around the delivery, risk management, cost controls, reporting, and overall documentation of the projects as assigned.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and customer service skills and have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. We are seeking candidates with six to nine years of progressively responsible experience in managing development projects and a thorough understanding of real estate development. A four-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, or Finance from an accredited college or university preferred.
